1952年（昭和27）に刊行された、英文の第一銀行小史。幕末のペリー来航から書き起こし、1873年（明治6）創業の第一国立銀行に始まる第一銀行の沿革と1952年当時の現況を、コンパクトにまとめている。表紙にはこの小史のために描かれた横山大観の桜の絵をあしらい、本文中にも錦絵や写真を何枚も配置した、海外向けの編集。
[第一銀行ではサンフランシスコ講和条約が発効されたこの1952年に、シカゴ駐在員事務所を開設している]
